the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few

The time with the team is coming to a close. Today is the last presentation in the Cusco main library.
God has blessed us with a relationship with the manager of the library, who is also in charge of the tourist and cultural activities in all of the city. He isn't a believer but has shown a great deal of support for us in sharing the gospel through the evangelical presentations.

Marcos has invited us to work with Cusco's cultural department, doing puppets and drama all year round. We just don't have the people to do it, and we don't have the puppets. Each team that comes has to bring their own puppets. In the future we hope to have our own puppets...and even more important, we hope to have more workers!

I hope we can continue the relationship that we have with Cusco and her leaders. At the end of the year, a new mayor will be voted into office. We are praying for him that he will have the same willingness to allow us to present the gospel openly like the current mayor does.

We're still waiting to find out if the manager from the Lima library was able to get us Bibles. Marcos told us it's 90% sure. We had presented a letter of request a few months ago, and Marcos brought it to the manager friend in Lima on our part. He said it's looking good but may be a few more months before we can get them. We are really praising God that they would be willing to give us Bibles. Right now we don't have any more Bibles to give away, so these would come in a perfect time. We also want to give Bibles to some of the boys in the correctional center where Ricky is doing a Bible study.

The Lord has opened lots of doors to do ministry here, but we just lack the workers. The scripture is timeless as it says, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few... isn't that the truth.

I am praying specifically that God would raise up workers to support you in your work there in Cusco or that He would at least provide you with puppets in the meantime. :-) It sounds like He has already opened alot of doors for you. I will pray that the new mayor will be as receptive, if not more, to letting you spread the gospel to those who so desperately need to hear it. That would be so much easier to do with an endless supply of bibles. I have faith that God will provide just what you need.

I am trying to spread the word about your blog so that others might see what needs you have. Keep up the good work. You will receive your reward in heaven.

In Christ,

Charissa
